ABOUT CRS LIBRARY

BUILT FOR THE WAY DESIGN TEAMS WORK

A well-run materials library is more than an organized collection. It’s an operational resource that connects designers with the materials, information, and manufacturer relationships they need to do their best work.

IT STARTED WITH A SIMPLE OBSERVATION

CRS began with a simple observation: materials libraries were among the most valuable—and often least supported—resources inside design firms.

After working as a designer, in furniture and interiors, and as a manufacturer’s representative, our founder saw the same challenge across firms of every size. Materials libraries held years of product knowledge, manufacturer relationships, design inspiration, and financial investment—yet they were often treated as storage.

The problem wasn’t a lack of care. Design teams simply didn’t always have the time, resources, or operational framework to manage their libraries intentionally.

That realization became CRS.

What began as a solution to a recurring problem evolved into a systematic approach to materials library operations—one built around the way each individual firm actually works.

WHAT GUIDES OUR WORK

MISSION

To help design firms recognize their materials libraries as operational systems and provide a practical methodology for building and managing them.

VISION

A future where every design firm recognizes its materials library as a critical operational system that supports better design.

PURPOSE

We exist to help design teams work better—creating operational systems that allow them to focus on design instead of searching for information, managing resources, or maintaining the library.

EXPERIENCE FROM EVERY SIDE OF THE MATERIALS INDUSTRY

Claire Mattingly, Founder & CEO of CRS Library, brings more than 25 years of experience in the interior design industry, with a career spanning design, product knowledge, manufacturer relationships, and operational strategy.

Throughout her career, Claire saw firsthand how valuable—and often underutilized—materials libraries could be. That perspective led her to develop systems that improve workflow, strengthen collaboration, and better support the way design teams work.

Today, Claire partners with architecture and interior design firms to create customized library systems built around each firm’s workflow, project types, and long-term goals—transforming materials libraries into functional, strategic resources.
